For example, while engaging in what may become the mundane or typical activity of life, an individual may encounter an incredible moment of truth—an epiphany. However, this moment may be too profound to be kept in one’s mind because daily activity overtakes attention in the modern world. It is then forgotten about or buried deep inside the subconscious where it resides without being given credence in its verbalization. This profound moment then, never has the chance to rest in memory as either a thought or speech. It remains there only as an allusion. JD’s art aims to become a vehicle to rescue the profound insight from the deepest recesses of one’s memory.
